New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday sent relief material of Rs.15 lakh for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.
He also sanctioned Rs.25 lakh from his constituency development fund.
According to reports, two trucks full of relief material have reached Jammu. The material includes water purifiers and medicines.
He will also send more relief material.
Though the water is receding, people of Jammu and Kashmir are in a grave danger of epidemics and water-bourne diseases.
Lakhs of people have been displaced after the floods ravaged the state including its capital Srinagar. Army carried out a massive relief operation to rescue people from the submerged areas.
