Kolkata : England's stand-in Twenty20 skipper Graeme Swann says his comments in his autobiography that Kevin Pietersen was not a natural leader did not amount to character assassination.
"It was not character assassination. I hope people will read it objectively," Swann told media persons here.
In his autobiography "The Breaks Are Off", Swann had commented that Pietersen was not a natural leader and as such he should not have captained England.
Swann said the controversy has not strained his relations with Pietersen.
"My relationship with KP does not change," he said.
He said the book was not a distraction. "It wasn't a distraction for us, but maybe for those who were in the periphery of the team." (IANS)
